Truro Farmers’ Market

The place: Truro Farmers’ Market in…wait for it.. Truro!

The treasure: The market is an outstanding chance to meet the people that grow and make your food and local artists.

It’s hard to describe the atmosphere of any farmers’ market but the word friendly always comes to mind. One of the greatest things is being able to talk directly to and buy from the farmer, the jewelry maker, the bread maker, the plant growers. You can really get to know them and know that the money you spend goes directly to them.

The market is an open air outdoor event held every Saturday. There are plans in the works to move it to the old fire hall (once renovations  are complete) which will be a hybrid indoor-outdoor venue. They’ve recently started holding a Wednesday Market – look for an update when the fire hall market goes full time!

Some of the things you can find are: produce sellers (meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, breads, etc) as well as garden plant and tree sellers. There are also several people selling hand created items.

If you’re looking for lunch check out the chip wagon that’s been added recently!
