The Ovens Natural Park

The Place: Riverport, Lunenburg County

The Treasure: The Ovens Natural Park

The Ovens Natural Park is a privately owned, widely known, tourist attraction on the south shore.

Probably best known for the seaside caves this park has a lot to offer on it’s 190 acre property.

The cliff side trails offer amazing views of both the ocean and the rocks below.

The Ovens Natural Park offers lodging, camping, a diner, general store, kayaking, a museum dedicated in part to the 1861 gold rush – you can even go panning for gold!

Although we didn’t have as much time as we would have liked to explore, the sounds of the ocean crashing in to the caves is unforgettable and we look forward to going back.
